Exciting news! 🎉 The Hispanic Society is thrilled to announce the launch of our Digital Collections portal, featuring over 6,000 hi-res images of works from our collections of prints, photographs, manuscripts, and rare books. With everything from etchings by Francisco de Goya and photographs by Ruth Matilda Anderson to 16th century printed books from the Americas and manuscripts from the Spanish Philippines, the new Digital Collections portal will serve as an invaluable resource for scholars and the general public alike. All objects in the portal are accompanied by detailed cataloguing and metadata.
This initiative is the result of over a year of work by a team comprising experts in digital asset management, cataloguing, photography, Spanish history, and Spanish philology. The project is ongoing, with new objects and collections added to the portal each week, many of which are being made available to the public for the first time.
We are grateful to The Achelis & Bodman Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, GRoW @ Annenberg Foundation, FundaciĂłn MarĂa Cristina Masaveu Peterson, Henry Luce Foundation, and Leon Levy Foundation for their generous support of this groundbreaking initiative.
The Digital Collections portal can be accessed via the Hispanic Society website.
