MCS is thrilled to welcome Ray Maxwell as the MCS Intimacy Consultant!
Ray Maxwell (they/he) is a Brooklyn-based actor and intimacy choreographer who joined the MCS community in 2025.
Originally from rural Virginia, Ray attended the University of Virginia and received a B.A. in Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. After moving to NYC, they began training with the Intimacy Professionals Association (IPA), where they earned their certification in Intimacy Coordination for Live Performance.
In their work as an Intimacy Professional, Ray hopes to craft a consent-forward and curious space in which actors feel empowered to dive into the brave work of staged intimacy with confidence. Their favorite projects depict q***r and trans humans, focusing on their nuance, pleasure, and embodiment. They have worked on original theater projects at NYU, The Circle Theater Festival, and most recently, a production of ‘RENT’ at Art House Productions.
Ray is grateful to the MCS community of artists. They are thrilled to join the team as the in-studio intimacy consultant — a role that allows them to offer personalized support to students engaging in staged intimacy.
