‼️🖼️ Exhibition Announcement | John Hoyland RA and Clyde Hopkins: The wind blows high in space. Curated by Philip Dodd.

Upsilon Gallery London is pleased to present a duo exhibition of British abstract artists John Hoyland RA and Clyde Hopkins in October 2026.

Bringing together two generations of British abstraction, the exhibition looks beyond the old divisions of abstraction and figuration toward a shared engagement with the cosmic and the sublime.

‘The wind blows high in space’ takes its title from a piece of writing by Hopkins, and reflects the expansive vision at the heart of both artists’ work.

⭐️ On View Now | What Remains Visible ⭐️

Upsilon Gallery London presents ‘What Remains Visible’, a group exhibition featuring works by Tonye Ekine, Lu Gan, Katie Kaur, Jenny Lewis, and Ruarí Milne. Bringing together painting and photography, the exhibition explores light not simply as a condition of vision but as a material through which memory, perception, and history are continually negotiated.

The exhibition takes its point of departure from the proposition that visibility is never neutral. Rather than offering transparent descriptions of the world, the works gathered here examine how meaning is constructed through acts of looking. Across distinct practices, light functions as atmosphere, structure, gesture, and witness, shaping both what is revealed and what remains unresolved.
