Meena Hasan () , Misra Walker (), and Juliana Hyrri () .

Juliana Hyrri is a painter and experimental writer working between image, text, and observation. Her work begins in fragments: memories, sketches, overheard conversations, and everyday perceptions, which unfold into paintings where figures, objects, and interiors slip out of place and form new, unstable relations. With a background in contemporary comics, she works with rhythm, sequencing, and interruption as structuring principles. Writing runs through her practice as titles, notes, and lists, shaping how images are read as much as how they are made. Her work moves between tenderness, irony, and quiet humour, holding meaning in a state of gentle instability.

Juliana Hyrri’s residency occurs in partnership with the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Meena Hasan's artworks navigate the politics and aesthetics of heritage by drawing from processes and forms sourced from her index of personal and historical textiles, patterns and decorations. She uses paint, inks and a variety of papers to develop textured and exuberant psychosomatic surfaces. She received her B.A. in Studio Art from Oberlin College in 2009 and her MFA in Painting & Printmaking from Yale School of Art in 2013. She has participated in many group exhibitions including at Deitch Projects, NYC, Nathalie Karg Gallery, NYC and the 2022 New England Triennial at the deCordova Museum and has had recent solo and two person exhibitions at Stowaway Gallery, Los Angeles, CA and with Deanna Evans Projects both in 2025. She is currently an Associate Professor in Painting at RISD, Providence while living and maintaining her studio in New York City.

You may not realize that we depend on donations from those who value our work - one person at a time. Support from individuals like you allows us to work directly with artists as they dig deep, creating some of their boldest, most fearless work. That kind of bravery requires the sustained uplift only a residency like Triangle can provide: three months of unlimited studio time, intense conversations with experienced curators, and challenging, supportive peers. Triangle nurtures artists’ most vital ideas and helps them grow.

Meanwhile, government and private foundation funding has never been more precarious. We need the help of individuals like you - those who understand why what we do is important - more than ever.

Between studio space costs, staff support, and programming, it costs thousands of dollars a month to sustain our work. We are trying to close a shortfall of $20,000 - please put us on solid footing now, as we close out our fiscal year and prepare for the next season of visionary artists.

⭐Introducing our new summer season residents! Misra Delfin-Walker, Juliana Hyrri, Anoushé Shojae-Chaghorvand, and Meena Hasan ⭐

Misra Delfin-Walker () is a community organizer, educator, and interdisciplinary artist. In 1971, Marvin Gaye implored the world: "What's going on?" Walker carries this question forward, what is going on, and how do we understand our present material conditions without the tools to analyze our past?

Juliana Hyrri () is a painter and experimental writer working between image, text, and observation. Her work begins in fragments: memories, sketches, overheard conversations, and everyday perceptions, which unfold into paintings where figures, objects, and interiors slip out of place and form new, unstable relations.

Anoushé Shojae-Chaghorvand ( ) is an Iranian-American transdisciplinary artist and Assistant Professor of Sculpture + Experimental Media at the University of Arkansas. Her performative installations function as “spatial cinema,” looping, high-tension scenes that probe the absurdity, violence, and collapse embedded in the American Dream.

Meena Hasan’s () artworks navigate the politics and aesthetics of heritage by drawing from processes and forms sourced from her index of personal and historical textiles, patterns and decorations. She uses paint, inks and a variety of papers to develop textured and exuberant psychosomatic surfaces.

Serena Chang is an artist based in Queens, New York. Her work explores the language and aesthetics of the
global economy and how systems of labor, manufacturing, and cultural exchange shape identity. Through
