The Courageous True Story: Gisèle Pelicot (2024 Justice)

For nearly 10 years (2011–2020), Gisèle Pelicot’s husband Dominique secretly drugged her food and drinks with sedatives, rendering her unconscious. He then invited dozens of men into their home to assault her while she was completely unaware.

In September 2020, Dominique was caught filming under women’s skirts in a supermarket. Police searched his devices and discovered thousands of videos and photos labeled “abuses” — showing over 70 men participating in the crimes against Gisèle.

When police told Gisèle the horrifying truth, she was devastated but chose strength. She waived her right to anonymity, demanded a public trial, and faced her abusers in court to fight for all victims.

The Justice Twist: In December 2024, after a landmark trial in Avignon, all 51 men (including Dominique) were found guilty. Dominique received the maximum 20 years in prison. The others received sentences from 3 to 15+ years. Gisèle became a global symbol of courage and resilience.

On May 27, 1991, 14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone was lured to Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment in Milwaukee with the promise of money for taking photos.

Dahmer drugged the boy. Later that evening, Konerak managed to escape — dazed, injured, and in distress — and ran out onto the street.

Two concerned neighbors (including Glenda Cleveland and her family) saw the terrified boy and immediately called the police, reporting a child who needed urgent help.

When officers arrived, Dahmer calmly approached them and claimed that Konerak was his 19-year-old boyfriend named “Jim,” that they had simply had a domestic fight, and that the boy was drunk. Despite the neighbors’ strong protests and the boy’s obvious young appearance and condition, the police believed Dahmer.

The officers ultimately escorted Konerak back into Dahmer’s apartment and left him there.

What the police didn’t know: Konerak was only 14 years old — and he was the younger brother of a boy Dahmer had previously assaulted in 1988 (for which Dahmer was on probation at the time).
Shortly after the police left, Dahmer killed Konerak. His remains were later found in Dahmer’s apartment after his arrest in July 1991.

This case became one of the most shocking examples of police failure, racism, and homophobia in the Dahmer investigation. The responding officers were suspended but later reinstated.
