Day 1 ✔️🎬

NFF 2026 is officially underway.

From thought-provoking documentaries and compelling narratives to packed theaters and Opening Night excitement, the Festival kicked off with stories that sparked conversation and brought our community together.

Highlights included local Girl Scout troop attending a screening of COOKIE QUEENS, applause after the screening of TAKE ME HOME, emotional energy during the screening of EVERYBODY TO KENMURE STREET, and our Opening Night presentation of THE INVITE. ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an incredible first day. We're just getting started.

JUST ANNOUNCED 🎉

Standup comedian, bestselling author, producer, actress, and publisher Phoebe Robinson will now be stepping in to host this year's Screenwriters Tribute.

Robinson co-created and starred in 2 Dope Queens (podcast and HBO), is the author of You Can't Touch My Hair, Everything's Trash, But It's Okay, and Please Don't Sit on My Bed in Your Outside Clothes, and is the founder of Tiny Reparations Books. Her second comedy special, I Don't Wanna Work Anymore, premiered in 2025, and she is currently on her "Feral and Fired Up" standup tour.
