Celebrate Earth Day with Fishing Planet!
Hey Anglers,
Every year on April 22, people around the world come together to celebrate Earth Day. It’s a time to reflect on how much our planet gives us and a reminder that protecting it starts with the small habits we practice every day.
Water lies at the heart of it all, covering nearly 70% of the Earth and supporting an incredible diversity of life. As anglers, we experience this connection more closely than most. Every time we cast a line, we see how delicate this balance is and how important it is to protect it so these waters can thrive for generations.
We all know the basics: don’t leave trash behind and reduce plastic use. But there’s another side that often goes unnoticed and that’s the role anglers play in protecting the waters they fish.
Practices like catch and release give fish a chance to grow and reproduce, helping populations stay strong over time. In some cases, catching invasive species is just as important, as it helps maintain the natural balance of the ecosystem. Following local limits, choosing biodegradable lines, using barbless hooks, handling fish carefully, and taking only what you truly need may seem like small actions, but together they make a real impact.
Using eco-friendly transport and behaving responsibly on the water is just as important: reduce noise, operate boats carefully, and avoid damaging vegetation or disturbing aquatic wildlife. And if you simply want to have fun and go all out with your boat or gear, you can always do it in Fishing Planet, just for fun, without harming real nature.
To bring more attention to this topic, we’d love to hear from you. What do you personally do to take care of nature when you’re out fishing? Share your thoughts in the comments for a chance to win a Sport Outfit Pack, a Sport Kayak Pack, and 7 days of Premium. We’ll choose random winners from the comments on Monday.
Let’s keep our waters alive and thriving together.
Happy Earth Day!
