The goal of Masterworks Theater Company is to present accessible, professional productions of theatrical and literary heavyweights that are widely produced and studied in educational settings at affordable ticket prices to help develop the audience for live theater for the next generation. The Masterworks Theater Company is a Professional, Equity Theater Company whose repertoire will include the masterworks of theater that every young person should have an opportunity to experience between ninth grade and the end of college. MTCo will mount productions in a prominent New York City theater to accommodate:
• Every school and university using live performance as an educational platform,
• Every teacher, parent or grandparent seeking to introduce live theater as a valuable life experience,
• Every inveterate theater lover who would be happy to see a masterwork again at an affordable price,
• Every one of the thousands of students who come to New York every year for their school’s “theater week in New York.”
