LAIA CABRERA & CO., co-founded by Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger, is an award-winning team of film, animation, and visual artists based in New York. We create multimedia artworks, from traditional and experimental filmmaking to immersive interactive art installations. We are exploring new ways of using space and visual imaginary as a tool for storytelling and audience connection, creating imme

rsive experiences that draw on both scenographic and dramaturgical techniques. Our aim is to revitalize and strengthen the intercommunication of different artistic languages. Our work has been commissioned and presented in Europe, the United States, Asia and Latin America.

A couple of months ago, we were invited with “Qualia - You matter to me” to Illuminate at DARCC, Dallas, TX. It was an honor for our piece to be surrounded by all these voices, strong voices, stronger, after being broken. And of the people who healed those broken.

The Illuminate gala is an annual fundraising and immersive art event hosted by the Dallas Area R**e Crisis Center (DARCC). The second annual event took place on March 27, 2026, featuring life-sized outdoor art installations focused on healing and resilience to support crisis intervention and counseling services.

Two immersive worlds. Two different journeys. One invitation: to slow down, feel, and reconnect.

This June, we presented Qualia – You Matter to Me and Perennial Land as part of the Jersey City Theatre Center’s Voices International Festival at Mana Contemporary, in collaboration with the Monira Foundation.


Qualia – You Matter to Me is an immersive cinematic installation and visual poem that explores consciousness, vulnerability, and our longing for connection.

Perennial Land is a large-scale immersive cinematic installation that brings together nature, culture, and data to create an experience that reflects on our relationship with the living world.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who visited, spent time with the work, and shared these experiences with us. Thank you to the Jersey City Theatre Center, Mana Contemporary, the Monira Foundation, and everyone who helped make this presentation possible.

These journeys continue.

Laia Cabrera és cineasta, videoartista i creadora multimèdia catalana establerta a Nova York, reconeguda internacionalment per les seves instal·lacions audiovisuals immersives i el seu llenguatge visual poètic i sensorial.

La seva obra explora la consciència, la percepció i la necessitat humana de connexió a través de la relació entre natura, tecnologia i emoció.

Al TEDxLleida 2026 presentarem “Qualia – You Matter To Me”, una experiència audiovisual immersiva que convida el públic a habitar un paisatge emocional on memòria, imaginació i sensibilitat es fusionen.

TEDxLleida 2026 té per lema ‘El Paisatge de les emocions’. On aquestes representen el batec que ens mou. Ens hi acompanyes?

En plena era de la IA, fem una pausa per explorar l’univers emocional com a tret definitori de l’ésser humà. El que ens apropa i ens allunya. Tant dels altres com de nosaltres mateixos. Una cita amb mirades diverses: l’art, la dansa, la ciència, la psicologia i la tecnologia, entre d’altres, per reivindicar allò que ens fa únics: la capacitat de sentir.

TED és una organització sense ànim de lucre dedicada a difondre idees (Idees Worth Spreading). Va començar com una conferència a Califòrnia l’any 1984, des de llavors, TED ha crescut per donar suport a les idees que canvien el món amb multitud d’iniciatives.A les conferències TED es demana als principals pensadors i creadors del món donar una xerrada sobre les seves vides o la seva forma de veure el món.
