“Having a chance to do more and more. With a role like bottom there is no end (No pun intended) however there is something honest and indeering about him. Although he likes his fair share of the limelight, there is an almost a “to honest for his own good” as well as someone who want’s whats best for the world. Although they may never tell you Bottom does have a heart and I can’t wait to explore.”

“Bringing Robin Goodfellow to life through my own interpretation is immensely exciting. Clever, mischievous, and constantly seeking his next unsuspecting victim for amusement, Robin remains one of Shakespeare’s most vibrant and captivating characters. And, of course, having the opportunity to deliver the iconic “If we shadows have offended…” speech at the close of the play is going to be truly epic.”

“I’ve done A Midsummer Night’s Dream before, but never as a lover! Helena is a total rebel. She bucks the female lover archetype by pursuing and wooing Demetrius, behaviors usually reserved for the men. Passion and desire drive her bold decision making. She expresses big emotions with confidence. These are not the stereotypical qualities of a self-described “right maid,” and yet it works out for her in the end. She gets the guy AND her best friend. Go Helena!”

“Demetrius, like an onion or an ogre, has layers. Every time I return to play Demetrius after some time away, I find something new and rich about his story hidden in a single line. He also gets some great speeches and outbursts in the heat of magical love juice induced magic that are just so fun to perform.”

“I love Hermia with all my heart. She’s such a fun character to play with because we see all the extremes to her; her passionate love for Lysander, her fawning fear towards death, her brave fight against authority, and her violent pain against heartbreak. She is what every teen girl REALLY is, and Im so so incredibly happy I get to be with her again.”

“To play Lysander is a dream. To play Lysander Off-Broadway is a dream. To even be in A Midsummer Nights Dream is, you guessed it, a dream. I am eternally grateful for this opportunity. What excites me most is the chance to say the line that I feel incapsulates the whole play, “For aught that I could ever read, could ever hear by tale or history, the course of true love never did run smooth.” Lysander sets the stage for the entire play: it’s he who decides to run away from Athens with Hermia, and it’s even he who suggests they fall asleep in the forest which leads to the mischievious Puck dripping the love-juice in his eye. Without Lysander this play would be just another tale of misbegotten love.“

🔺Tony Savage Thorn as Egeus and Peter Quince

“The contrasting roles are a good challenge. I’m also especially eager to be a part of the play within the play, since it’s so iconic and there’s so many ways to tackle it to make it our own. This ensemble is going to kill it.”

🔺Rosalind Joyce as Peaseblossom and Tom Snout

“Playing Peaseblossom makes my heart so happy. As a dancer, it’s been tons of fun to get to experiment with fairy movement. I’ve loved fairies all my life, so honestly it feels like a dream (hah!) come true to get to pretend to be fairies with people who are passionate about physical storytelling as I am. If I could choose to actually become any character in this play in real life, it woiuld be Peaseblossom. She has a lot of fairy responsibility but she doesn’t have the weight of being Fairy Queen on her shoulders, so I think it would be a great happy mdium. Plus I could fly. Tom Snout is kind of the opposite of a fairy, which is a blast. Tom also speaks to my sensibilities as a performer myself, trying his best to be a good Wall and do his part to make Peter Quince’s vision come to life.”
