Accessibility in Entertainment NY City Council Bill Intro 1307 is here and next Thursday (10/23) is a big day for this bill (committee hearing day!)

Intro 1307 would create a film, television, and theater accessibility fund administered by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME), in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities and the Mayor’s Office of Talent and Workforce Development.

It means casting directors can cast authentically and productions can employ the best people for a job (both on camera and behind the camera/in writers rooms etc), regardless of the cost of accommodations.

An accessibility bill brings jobs for EVERYONE...ie. not “only” the 1 in 4 people who identify as disabled.

It means more production, more resources.
