From extraordinary literary archives and iconic first editions to rare children’s books, artist books, manuscripts, maps, and remarkable works on paper, this year’s fair brought together exhibitors from around the world in celebration of the stories, histories, and craftsmanship that continue to shape our cultural landscape.

A look back at a delightful discovery from this year’s : this exceptionally rare 1940 edition of Via Mercanti (“Street of Shops”) by legendary Italian designer Bruno Munari, presented by Enchanted Books.

Designed as an interactive children’s play set, the piece unfolds into seven vibrant miniature storefronts. From pastry shops to musical instrument dealers, each filled with beautifully illustrated wares and Munari’s signature wit and imagination. Complete with its original box and publisher’s instructions, it’s a remarkable example of early 20th-century design at the intersection of art, play, and print culture.

A record-breaking year for the New York International Antiquarian Book Fair!

From the moment doors opened at the Park Avenue Armory, 2026 set a new standard. We welcomed the largest opening night crowd ever and bringing together an extraordinary global community of dealers, collectors, curators, and creatives.

Across 174 exhibitors, the fair offered rare books, manuscripts, archives, and cultural artifacts spanning centuries, alongside standout early sales, unforgettable discoveries, and conversations that carried well beyond the aisles.

This year felt especially electric, with a new generation of collectors showing up in force and a vibrant mix of voices from across art, design, fashion, and film proved once again that the world of rare books is not only enduring, but evolving.

To everyone who joined us, supported, exhibited, and explored: thank you for making this one for the books.

Join us Saturday, May 1 at 2:30 PM for 'Tarot! Renaissance Symbols, Modern Visions at the Morgan Library'.

Exhibition curators and Frank Trujillo will speak about the origins of Tarot in Renaissance Italy, the earliest surviving decks from the fifteenth century, as well as the cards' ongoing relevance as a source for artists in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Trujillo is the Drue Heinz Book Conservator in the Morgan’s Thaw Conservation Center and Josh O’Driscoll is the Melvin R. Seiden Curator and Department Head of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts at the Morgan Library and Museum.

Last night, the ABAA New York International Antiquarian Book Fair (NYIABF) – officially sanctioned by the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America (ABAA) () and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB) (), and produced by Sanford L. Smith + Associates – returned to the Park Avenue Armory for its 66th edition, welcoming collectors, curators, tastemakers and bibliophiles for an exclusive VIP preview.

More than 2400 guests moved through presentations from 174 exhibitors from around the world, encountering rare books, manuscripts, maps and cultural artifacts spanning centuries, reaffirming the fair’s reputation as the leading international event of its kind.

This year’s fair continues to reflect a broadening audience. The notable presence of younger collectors and guests from across disciplines underscores the expanding cultural relevance of rare books and works on paper.

The NYIABF Ambassador Program also returned, bringing together a diverse group of collectors, creatives and cultural figures who help connect the fair to new audiences. This year’s Ambassadors include Founding Ambassador joined by , .bonet, , , , , , , , , and .

Join us Saturday, May 1 at 1:00PM for 'Letters as Literature'

“Letters as Literature” will trace the origins and development of the epistolary form in Western literature, examining classics like Dracula, Frankenstein, and Dangerous Liaisons, as well as contemporary memoirs like Barbara Chase Riboud's I Always Knew. A writer herself, - one of the NYIABF Ambassadors - will lead the conversation with of and Sammy Jay of exploring how written correspondence drives creative and emotional realizations and how the epistolary form supports narrative development.
