Look North Gallery was excited to partner with the and the New Bedford Free Public Library to bring this exhibition to life, and it was especially meaningful to open during , a dynamic event sponsored by that makes arts and culture accessible to all.

A highlight for us was showcasing new works by Inuvialuit artist Abraham Anghik Ruben with and Nenet artist Viktor Iande, whose pieces bring fresh voices and new perspectives to Indigenous art, incorporating contemporary themes. We also continued our relationship with and Rena Bass Forman, whose work was featured in our Polar Light Greenland exhibition in 2008. Look North Gallery is excited to partner with the New Bedford Art Museum and the New Bedford Free Public Library on Arctic Voices, a new exhibit that represents artistic responses to the Arctic regions across time and cultures. The exhibition offers a range of perspectives from 19th century explorers/artists, Inuit and indigenous peoples of the Arctic region and 21st century contemporary artists and consider how the competing ideas throughout history motivate artists’ investigations and shape their approach to the landscape and representations of culture.

Join us at the opening reception on November 14th, 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the New Bedford Art Museum and join our mailing list (https://www.looknorthny.com/mailing-list/) for updates.
