Mr. Bright's School of Stories

Mr. Bright's School of Stories Teaching kids, one story at a time... Mr. Bright has stories. A lot of stories. Then he realized that stories can be a really great way to learn.

So he started his own school. A School of Stories. Welcome, one and all, to his school…

Mr. Bright’s one-man show for young people educates and entertains through stories, and he is about to head to schools, programs, organizations, churches, and any other place where kids gather to share his School of Stories with the world! Stay on the lookout for stories to be shared online as well!

For one last , on this Thanksgiving Day, we just wanted to say that we are so grateful… that YOU are here!!

One year ago, Mr. Bright shared this story and we feel even more grateful for you now than we did then (if that’s even possible.) We have LEARNED so much in this first year, and this is just the BEGINNING!!

This Holiday season, Mr. Bright shares a story of a family, perhaps much like your own, that comes together for a gathering this time of year. As they go th...

On this , we are so grateful for… everyone who has seen and understood what our School of Stories is about and provided Mr. Bright space and opportunities to perform live, explore the range of his ability and learn in the process.

Thank you for believing in Mr. Bright and his vision for the youth. Thank you for taking a chance on us. We can’t wait will take what we’ve learned into this next year.

Happy everyone! Today, we are continuing to reflect on the things that we are especially thankful for this November.

2) We are so grateful for… the new friends and fellow storytellers who have expanded our understanding of who we are.

This year has been one of refining our understanding of who Mr. Bright is called to be in this world. We have learned that we are inclusive, family-oriented, fun and relatable. Whether in person or on a screen, we aim to inspire engagement and reflection through music and character, so that both children and children-at-heart can discover something new about themselves and their world.

To our youngest friends that danced along, we are for you. To our circles in a world of squares, we are for you. To the kids and teens who sang along, we are for you. To the many parents and grandparents who laughed and cried along with us, we are for you.

To our fellow storytellers, thank you for your deep understanding of who we are (sometimes even before we knew it ourselves) and encouraging us to boldly pursue our unique calling.

It’s !! 🍁🍂

This year has been a big one!! And while we’ve been quiet on social media, there has been A LOT going on behind the scenes in preparation for next year!! We want to take the Thursdays leading up to Thanksgiving to share what we are especially grateful for this year.

1) Here at Mr. Bright’s School of Stories, we are so GRATEFUL for the support of our family and friends who have shown up for us in this endeavor.

To our family and friends who have shown up, please know that NONE of this would be possible without your encouragement through the years, but especially in this past year. Whether you met Mr. Bright as a child, teen or young adult, you have poured into Mr. Bright and had a hand in forming what is now his School of Stories. Your continued support means the world to us. Thank you for being there in the big and small moments of life.

And truthfully guys, these pictures represent only a FRACTION of all of the people we are thankful for.

Mr. Bright shares the story of a boy named Sam Sato and his mother for Mother’s Day.

Sam Sato has something important to share with his mother, but he’s afraid she won’t understand him.

What will happen when the person that matters most to Sam hears what’s really on his heart?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Love, curiosity, and play are by and large some of the most necessary qualities I’ve learned to have on this journey.

Essentially, all the things an actual child might have with their friends as they’re playing on a playground. Love for each other, curiosity to discover what no one has seen or shared before, and a sincere spirit of play
have carried me through every twist and turn this creative voyage has led me down.

How do you keep your creativity alive?

“Creativity, therefore, is best kept alive when love is kept alive. And for me, that’s the love of the kids I desire to reach. The ones who have their own unique world living on the inside of them just like I did.”
