Happy birthday to two of the greatest theater composers of this generation, theater "Gods" if you will... 😉🍰✨️

We absolutely adore how their timeless creations can continue enriching our cultural landscape, and how artists like us can explore their pieces in new and surprising contexts.

Here is a little excerpt we "borrowed" from Sondheim's wonderful adaptation of "The Frogs" to open our 🏛54 Sings Ancient Greece🏛 concert last year! What do you think? Maybe we should start every single show with this little incantation? It couldn't hurt to throw Dionysus a bone... 🤔🍇🐆

How many ⚠️NMWP⚠️ cabarets have you seen so far?

Now in our second season of award-winning cabarets, this theater company has certainly found a new love 🏆💛🎙
Not only do we get to explore music and comedy in a setting essential to the heart of theater, we also get to work with a HUGE variety of local artists and meet some of our favorite returning collaborators through these shows!

We've LOVED meeting all of you last night in 🩰En Pointe🩰 and sharing the joys of DANCE and music with our INCREDIBLE all-femme cast!

On March 8th, 2025, while performing the 🥊Choose-Your-Own-Setlist🥊 cabaret at , the wonderful and came up with a small dance break for their number!

A full year later, the excitement audiences felt watching this unfold inspired a BRAND NEW SHOW, 🩰En Point🩰- a dance cabaret celebrating NYC's best and brightest singer-dancers. Is that you? Make sure you submit your video audition by EOD THURSDAY, JAN 29TH to be a part of this adventure 🧭

Our baby is ONE YEAR OLD! 🥳🥳🥳

A WHOLE YEAR AGO today we performed 💡Panthe-ON!💡 at ! The Gods of the Greek pantheon came back to life in this one night extravaganza at the HEART of NYC ❤️🗽 Part powerhouse vocals and part historic squabbles, this show was received with so much love by our patrons we decided to create its SEQUEL later this winter... 🤫👀😉

To reminisce over this recently 🏆AWARD WINNING🏆 show, here's our fav performing as the Queen of all Gods 🦚Hera🦚, explaining why she stays with this b*ttface Zeus despite his infamous infidelity...

Here at ⚠️NMWP⚠️, we've always believed in casting the best performer for each role, regardless of gender. That's why you get to see a lot of fxmme and non-binary covers of traditionally masculine roles on this page- we just don't feel super precious about that!

This one's for the big D! 🏛🍇🙌

What a FANTASTIC year this was in ⚠️NMWP⚠️ land! In 2025 we had a total of 10 shows, including 3 mainstage productions, 3 workshops or readings and 4 cabarets 💃🏻🎙🎶

We were greatful to work with over 50 PHENOMENAL artists, and introduce our art to HUNDREDS of audience members from 6 countries and 3 continents (that we know of 👀)
We've also won a total of 5 awards from and and got so many positive reviews from critics and audiences alike! 🤩

With so much to be grateful for, we're THRILLED to keep the ball rolling with a 2026 season including an album release, new material, some old faves and a touring show 🥰 To everyone who's joined us on or off stage in 2025, thank you! Let us know what your favorite part of our season was or what you are most excited for in the upcoming year. Here's a little compilation of our journey this year, from rehearsal rooms to stages with tomfoolery aplenty 😉

After receiving its Off-Broadway encore this March, ⚠️NMWP⚠️'s imaginitive rendition of the 2023 Climate Change Theater Action plays is up for Best Production Of A Play, Best Theatrical/Immersive Experience, Best Direction Of A Play and Best Performance In A Play- a grand total of SIX nominations! 😱

We couldn't be more honored to be nominated among the greats, and to continue advocating for climate action in our NYC community ♻️ And to think, while our performance of last festival's plays was making the rounds, we already managed to premiere the brand new 2025 edition... 😉🧠🐻‍❄

As ⏰️Down For The Count⏰️ is getting closer, it's time to introduce one of our special guest stars! ⭐️

A transcendent Soprano and professional princess (Disney said so, not us 😉), we're proud to host the wonderful ! 🌸🐚🪽

🍰 Chan Wannapat (She/Her) is a singer/performer from Thailand. With her bright smile, and positivity allows her to navigate the art of storytelling in her own unique way. An MM in Musical Theatre Vocal Performance from Arizona State University sponsored by Fulbright Scholarship. She is the voice of Mirabel in Disney’s Encanto Thailand. Favorite roles includes: Natasha from Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 (ASU), The Mad Lady from Luna The Immersive Musical (Castscape, Thailand), Ensemble and sub-lead in many Ratchadalai Theatre’s original musical shows (Thailand). Not only musical theatre, she also loves to sing Jazz, Funk, RnB, Pop-Rock, and voice coaching youngs and olds students. Performing art is her love. She believes that art could change the world and she wants to be a part of it. Even a small hand counts. IG: Chan_Wannapat 🍰

Today's resident cast member is the one and only, the magnificent 🌷👗✨️

🍨 MaKensey Kaye Alford is a recent graduate of the University of Montevallo, where she earned her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Some of her recent credits include Pippin (Catherine), Cabaret (Fräulein Kost), and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Stepmother). You may have seen her in various cabarets around the city! She recently made the move to NYC and couldn’t be more excited for all that’s ahead! 🍨

So many of our ⏰️Down For The Count⏰️ singers are new to the ⚠️NMWP⚠️-verse, and it's one of the greatest joys of this concert to introduce these stars to our beloved patrons.

One such talent is the INCREDIBLE , here to prove that good things come in threes (or rather, that good singers sing the song about the number 3, which is close enough 😂)

⭐️ Victorious is excited to make his New York City cabaret debut with Down For The Count. Previously, Victorious was a reference archivist for the New York Public Library before resigning to pursue his passion of being a thespian. Recent credits include American Negro Theatre Audio Guide (New York Public Library) and Ancient Nubia (Black Spectrum Theatre). You can see him next appearing in the Miss Fairfield County Musical for the new York Theater Festival ⭐️
