Some conversations you don’t want to miss.

Following our June 11 workshop performance of BORDEN in Lexington, we’ll be hosting a special post-show conversation with Cara Robertson.

Cara’s groundbreaking research into the Lizzie Borden case has reshaped how we understand the events of 1892, and this conversation will dive deeper into the history behind the story, the lives of the Borden family, and the questions that still linger more than a century later.

We’ll be exploring the intersection of fact and storytelling, and how Emma’s perspective opens up an entirely new way of looking at a case so many think they already know.

More information coming soon on how to attend and be part of this conversation!

Trust us, you’re going to want to stay for this one.

Big moment for BORDEN: A New Musical.

We’re honored to be featured in this BroadwayWorld article announcing Cara Robertson joining the team as our Dramaturg and Historical Advisor.

Widely regarded as one of the leading experts on the Lizzie Borden case, Cara’s insight and scholarship have already had a profound impact on this piece, and we’re so excited to continue developing the work alongside her.

As we head toward our upcoming workshop, this collaboration marks an exciting next step in bringing this story to life.

Emma was not just “Lizzie’s sister.”

She was a daughter who made a promise to her dying mother. A woman navigating the suffocating expectations of 19th century New England. A sister who stood beside Lizzie through suspicion, trial, and scandal. And later, a woman who chose distance when the weight became too much.

On her birthday, we remember Emma not as a footnote, but as a full person. Complex. Devoted. Human.

As we continue building BORDEN through her story, we keep coming back to this: what does it cost to love someone “forever an always.” And what happens when forever changes.

Happy Birthday, Emma đź–¤

We had such a wonderful visit to the Fall River Historical Society where we sat down with the society’s curator Michael Martins and historian Dennis A. Binette.

Although the society is currently closed to the public, they generously opened their doors to us for an amazing conversation and even pulled artifacts from their vaults to share with us!

So grateful to have such an amazing community of people behind us as we build this show!
