Studio Six is the sixth studio offshoot of the Moscow Art Theatre, founded by a group of 11 American actors trained in a 4-year long acting program at the renowned Moscow Art Theatere School in Russia. As the first American troupe established by the Moscow Art Theatre, we feel that what we learned in Russia goes far beyond acting and the stage. We came to understand that arts and culture play a very significant societal role; that better arts awareness fosters healthier human conditions, which facilitates more openness and dialog in society. It is our firm belief that a rich and diverse cultural life is vitally important for the well being of the nation. Our mission is to be an ensemble repertory theatre that can make a difference by creating a new theater experience. By collaborating with foreign directors and playwrights, authoring new translations, and providing educational experiences for the audience and communities we serve, we see ourselves as a cultural bridge between the Russian and American theater communities and beyond.
