After seven extraordinary years, Katherine Vos van Liempt (.vvl), has decided to step down as our General Manager. She will transition from her role in August β and what a journey it has been.
Katherine joined the NL Club in 2019 with a clear mission: build on the legacy of this magnificent 123-year-old institution and give it the foundation to thrive for another century. She didn't just complete that mission β she surpassed it in every way imaginable.
Under her leadership, we have grown to 536 members β a remarkable 523% increase, averaging 44% growth annually. Our newsletter now reaches over 17,600 people (an increase of 682%). We rebranded, diversified our programming and membership, welcomed a vibrant new generation into our community, and built a network of trusted partners. Most importantly, we became a community that truly reflects the full, rich tapestry of what it means to be Dutch, Dutch-rooted, and Dutch-loving in New York City.
But the numbers, impressive as they are, tell only half the story. What Katherine brought to the NL Club cannot be measured in metrics β it can only be felt. She made this Club what it is today, and on behalf of the entire Board, we are deeply grateful for her years of inspired leadership, creativity, and care.
Katherine will remain with the NL Club through August as we search for the next General Manager, ensuring a smooth and thoughtful transition to continue the further expansion of our club that Katherine has been so instrumental to.
Please join me in celebrating Katherine and everything she has meant to this community. We will raise a proper toast to her β as only the NL Club can β at one of our borrels this Spring.
With warmth and gratitude,
Josephine (Fien) Bertrams
President of the Board
