With over 30 years of acting and teaching experience, directing the theater departments of organizations like The Harlem School of the Arts, Jody Prusan has a uniquely multi-faceted perspective of the theater business. She is now applying her knowledge of and passion for the theater and kids to the creation of Jody Prusan Coaches Kids. Her work as an actor, as a longtime member of SAG/AFTRA, and AEA and her many associations with the industry have garnered Prusan excellent connections and enduring working relationships with casting directors, agents, theater and movie directors, writers, and actors. With her ability to cast a wide net within the industry, and her extensive behind-the-scenes experience discovering and cultivating new talent, she has observed first hand what it takes to prepare an actor for an audition. Jody has facilitated prestigious placements for actors for starring roles in numerous Broadway shows - Annie, Fun Home, Elf, The Winslow Boy, Evita and School of Rock. She has also helped actors get roles in productions including the 25th National Tour of Les Miserables, Maine State Music Theatre’s Annie, as well as Jungle Book, A Little Night Music, Billy Elliott, A Christmas Story, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at the Public Theatre. Television credits of her clients include: Orange is the New Black, Gotham, Chicago Med, Law and Order SVU, Sesame Street, and One Life to Live. Movie credits of her clients include: A Cat In Paris, Begin Again, Penguins of Madagascar, Zoolander 2 and Army of God. It is her goal to provide a tool box for her clients that will help them and enable them to hone their skills. Jody’s refreshingly personal approach offers an invaluable—and rare—combination of experience, skills, and nurturing helping actors shape and define their career path from school admissions to the Broadway Stage.
