But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!
Love does not mean accepting abuse, love does not mean act like nothing happened, love sometimes has to come from a distance and it does not mean you have to be untrue to yourself or dishonest, love can also be correcting in love, praying for someone, praying for discernment, speaking with wisdom, and knowing when not to speak, listening.....
Read the word for examples and guidance on how to love - the answers are there! It does not ever mean to abuse yourself - don’t misconstrue the word but seek wisdom and understanding and discernment you’ll know what to do and you have everything you need.
First law of nature to thine own self be true.
Love yourself and loving others will make sense and become easier. And loving yourself includes being real and honest with yourself. Seeing and knowing the intricacies the glows and grows, pretty and not so pretty, the things that make you, you and getting to know how you move and why you move - This, the word and relationship with God, the creator, grants clarity on how to love you and how to love others.

Be still and know that He is God.
The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still.
The Lord God strong and mighty. He is mighty in battle. The battle is not yours; it’s the Lords. Trust Him. Faith and works then leave the rest to Him. Sometimes that is the work - keeping still, keeping calm after you’ve prayed, fasted, practiced the fruits of the spirit then wait as God intercedes in the crevices and the remaining places to resolve and answer the prayers.
