Let’s get real: life is hard, but this past year has hit us all pretty hard. Taking care of your mental well being has become a big topic of conversation, so anyone who is advocating for THAT makes us weak in the knees. has been out here making taking care of your mental well being so damn cool! It’s especially amazing because they are making a huge impact in the + community when it comes to mental wellness. Their work is especially important considering how underfunded mental health services are for the community. your art and your activism makes us swoon!

It’s and who better to honor than and not just because of the brilliant poem she delivered at President Joe Biden’s inauguration back in January. Did you know that Amanda is the FIRST to be named National Youth Poet Laureate? Or that she was the first youth poet to open the literary season for the Library of Congress? Or that sis started a whole non profit called One Pen One Page, which is a youth writing and leadership program. Whew, we don’t know how she finds the time to be this incredible, but we are glad she does. So for being such an incredible light in this world, we will forever be crushing on you!

Mahershalaali is the real superhero we should look out for and strive to be. He shows his dedication to lift black female voices and he’s a diversity in art advocate. It’s amazing to think that after doing that work he still has time to inspire us all with his ridiculous talent. So for being directly involved in the hiring of Marvel’s first black female writer and for your INCREDIBLE body of work you are our today and everyday.

Layshia Clarendon is a professional basketball player for the New York Liberty, but don’t let the fact that they play for a women’s basketball team confuse you. Layshia is the first, that’s right the first, WNBA player to openly identify as transgender AND non-binary. So on top of being a BOMB athlete, Layshia is also out here showing others what it looks like to be unafraid to be exactly who they are. It’s the unapologetic-ness for us! you make us swoon.
