We’re going back to our roots…

FORGE NIGHTS ARE BACK!
And we’re now accepting script submissions.

What are Forge Nights, you ask? They’re one night, new short-play festivals Vulcan presents to help playwrights get their work up in front of an audience. In fact, they’re the program we founded Vulcan Theatre Company on because we thought the traditional NYC Theater Festival circuit didn’t necessarily serve playwrights who weren’t prepared/didn’t want to produce their work all on their own.

Have a short script you want to see performed in front of an audience? Just shoot it over to us. We select 4-5 scripts, we find the directors and the casts, they rehease independently for a couple weeks, then we all come together for one night to show the new works to an audience.

And we’re putting our next Forge Night together for later this summer, in our own backyard of Uptown Manhattan!

Interested in having your script considered? Here’s what you need to do…

Just email your script (no longer than 20 pages please) with a short synopsis and character breakdown to us at: [email protected]

That’s it! Then we’ll review submissions and select a handful of shows to take part in this run of Forge. Please take note, these are bare-bones performances, so scripts with minimal set and technical elements tend to work best.

Proud to announce that our closing performance today is SOLD OUT!

That means 4 out of 5 shows this weekend sold out. That means over 150 people came to a little theater on 36th Street and climbed up four flights of stairs to hear this story and be part of this conversation.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who was involved in making this show a reality and everyone who came to see it. And thank you to for being such generous hosts. It’s been a dream come true.

We think you’ll be seeing us again before too long.

In the meantime, “Maybe we’ll go look for some ceiling to paint.”
