The Minefield Theatre Group is proud to recognize the work of Chris Patterson, our Playwright-in-Residence.

For the past 6+ years, Chris has been our engine in driving, advising, and executing original material for our young company. Through the progression of his work, evolved attention to detail, and willingness to never be satisfied, it’s only fitting that Chris would expect his ambition within our mission to only expand. Thus we present Chris with his elevation to Editor-in-Chief and Head Writer.

We are proud and ever grateful to Chris for his relationship, commitment and dedication to our family, and as his progression suggests, is perfect for his new expanded and administrative role. His imagination and intellect will project sustainable and contemporary work for the foreseeable future of MTG.

We are honored and blessed to congratulate you, Chris. Thank you for all you’ve done, are doing, and will do!

The Minefield Theatre Group returns to The Tank with SEMINAR, a provocative comedy from Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck. Four aspiring young novelists sign up for private writing classes with Leonard, an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, s*x is used as a weapon and hearts are unmoored. The wordplay is not the only thing that turns vicious as innocence collides with experience in this biting comedy. For mature audiences only!

The production features Andrew Hamling as Leonard, Elizabeth Claflin as Kate, Drew Scott Alexander as Martin, Craig A. Stewart as Douglas, and Jody Doo as Izzy.

Performances will be at The Tank NYC, August 13, 14, 15, and 16 (Thursday-Sunday) at 9:30PM. General admission is $15, $10 w/ Student ID.
