Tamara writes “Through portraits of martial artists, intimate details, interviews, and visual juxtapositions with nature, I depict lived experiences of women within a historically male-dominated space. The project also exists as an evolving archive that recognizes and preserves their stories while creating visibility for future generations of women in martial arts. Ultimately, this work reframes martial arts as a practice rooted not only in strength and intensity, but also in balance, sensitivity, healing, and connection.”

Cadence writes “These photos capture a day in Haleakalā National Park in Maui, Hawaii, from afternoon to sunset. As the sun falls lower in the sky, the clouds change from pure white to gray to pinkish gold, giving the images different moods and lighting. The images aim to show the sheer beauty of the landscape as well as the feeling of surrealism and awe that comes from being literally above the clouds. The sky highlights the silhouettes of the people, looming over them and revealing their smallness in the face of its vastness, while the softness of the clouds contrasts with the rocky terrain below.”

✨Wei Li Wei Li ✨

Wei writes: “‘Fragility’ explores vulnerability among Chinese gay men living abroad, focusing on quiet and intimate moments that reveal emotions often hidden beneath outward strength.The project is developed through encounters with participants met via dating apps and personal networks. In the images, the human body exists in dialogue with natural elements. Flowers and organic materials are placed on or near the skin, not as decoration but as metaphors for softness, impermanence, and emotional exposure. These elements interact gently with the body, maintaining a sense of mutual respect rather than control. Falling petals suggest emotions that bloom, break, and disperse over time.”

✨Madeline Drumheller 𝔪𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔢 ✨

Madeleine writes “My work is a series exploring friendship, adolescence, and emotional distance that develops through adulthood. Working with my closest friends, I am interested in how long term relationships can feel both deeply familiar and increasingly estranged over time. I aim to photograph the act of suspending that shared tension. The images are partially staged, rooted in real relationships and our memories, and shaped by gestures of teenage intimacy and childhood play.”

✨Belle Papke annabelle🫧 ✨

Belle writes “The ambiguity of clowns has entranced me since I was a child, which has thoroughly morphed into the androgyny of my adult life. I chose to integrate clowns cohesively across all three themes. I introduced the nature of clowning to others and explored their sense of anonymity, a mask worn, but in that same vein, a mask being removed. They often felt more comfortable contorting their bodies and faces, removing themselves, and slowly taking on the role of a certain emotion.”
