Murphy's Law: The Road Trip Musical Comedy The four embark on a drive across the country to find concrete answers to their not-so-solid questions.

The Plot: When everyman Dave Spring wakes one morning to discover his family, career, and relationship crumbling to dust, he decides the only cure for his troubles is a road-trip across the United States. On this madcap journey, Dave picks up Diane, an Iowa housewife with family obligations that complicate her dream of Broadway stardom; Kira, a no-nonsense bombshell with her own relationship problems; and Sam, a good-ol'-boy auto mechanic who wants out of his dead-end job. The Music: Andy Nagraj & Jonathan Spivey composed a one-of-a-kind score that not only celebrates both of their divergent musical backgrounds, but also pays homage to many great American musical styles. Influenced by jazz standards, Southern rock, gospel, funk, and R&B, the songs will have you chair dancing--if you can remain seated. The History: Murphy's Law was originally written in 2003, and workshopped at the University of Richmond in January, 2004. Audiences have seen further staged readings in Holland, Michigan; San Diego, California; and Cedar City, Utah.
