As we get ready for our next run in Philly, we can’t help but think about the wonderful audiences in Avignon. Especially the talkback with students visiting France in a cultural exchange program. Their insights, questions, reflections about the piece is the reason we make theatre.

A true feminist icon.

There is something so moving about performing in France and seeing images on the streets of Avignon bearing her name.

Her bravery in coming forward and exposing her abusers is astounding.

It resonates deeply with one of the lines in our piece.

“This. This is not about love. It’s about power. And who wields it.”

May we reclaim our power the way Gisèle did.
