They are not up on my website yet. This is a Dottore that I have wanted to create for a while.

This piece/mask started out as a Cricket Queen mask. Several different cricket sketch designs. Working with Andy Teirstein, composer and producer, concepts advanced and developed something else, totally different, to fill the concept of the piece. Listening to Andy, suddenly, I realized the need and I had a beautiful root. I bought the Green Farms Market at Union Square. It was for tea, but looking up the root on the Mayo Clints website, I found, no I do not want to make tea out of this. I showed the root to Andy. The mask - now Cricket Queen Tiara went into creation. This is the resulting music video. Enjoy.

For those who would like to see an excellent creative moving show tomorrow night. It is at The Tank West 36th Street Between 8th and 9th Ave, downtown side of the street. It is a movement theater piece (which some people call physical theatre. But all theater is physical.) Here is the information. They are only doing two shows, and tomorrow Thursday is their last show. It is an international company.

Today, just before Shabbot I did a leather custom clown nose fitting and created an emergency mask for a new Rap Artist in an hour and thirty minutes. Yes, I forgot to take photos of the mask. But that is OK because OOAK is the one that will release the photos.

To check the air quality in the USA in your zip code, go to www.airnow.gov. It will tell you how good or unhealthy the air is. In NYC, the air quality this morning was close to 50, on the edge of good. Now, it is a very high 164, which is unhealthy. It is not a good time to go jogging. Sometimes - ok often I wake up at about 3:30 AM, this morning rather than going to my computer I did my early morning quiet workout for an hour, then took a good cold shower. Felt great then went back to bed for an excellent sleep for about three hours.

Ready for the actors fitting. Introducing: Screaming Orange Blight 2024. This is the finished masks for Theater of the New City, touring Street Theater show starting soon. The mask is a kind of small-nosed Pantalone. A mask's nose also represents other body parts and attitudes. One odd thing I notice in studying the plentiful screaming photos is the insanely oversized balloon lower eyelids. I have never noticed oversized eyelids on any other face. As a mask-maker, I study a lot of faces. At one point, I looked it up from a medical viewpoint and understood that it fits the character.

I have been working on a custom mask for a musical artist for a while. Today, the sculpture was finished, and it was master mold-making time. Here are some photos. No, you cannot see the actual sculpture yet. That is for the musical artist to introduce.

Just rented 17 Commedia dell'Arte masks for a film project working with kids in the Juvenile Justice system. Dan Gordan of Gordon Education Initiatives for the Performing Arts called me and asked about the masks he needs for a film project with these children. He came over, and we had fun for many hours picking out Commedia dell'Arte masks that will work with the project among the many masks in my studio. Here are photos of the masks and Dan and myself at Mask Arts Company studio as Dan gets ready to take these 17 masks off for 10 days to have fun and play with 17 interesting kids in the program.
