Join the Roosevelt Island Chamber Music Society for an afternoon of beautiful music rooted in the traditions of Palestine, bringing together traditional instruments and contemporary voices.

Featuring Ramzi Aburedwan (bouzouk), Ziad Ben Youssef (oud), Michael Geyre (accordion), and Youssef Hbeisch (percussion), with Yiheng Yang (piano), Marco Jiminez, Bowie Wang (viola), Thomas Zeugner (trombone), and Anoukia Nistor (cello).

Artist-Guided Tour: Mostly Blues

Join artist Katerina Kyselica for an intimate guided tour of her solo exhibition Mostly Blues, now on view at RIVAA Gallery.

Katerina will share the stories behind the works, her creative process, and her deep connection to paper as both an artistic and structural material. The tour will include a closer look at her drawings, handmade paper works, artist’s books, and fine art prints, with selected materials and tools used in their creation.

Free and open to the public.
Space is limited, so RSVP is recommended.

Quiet Noises by Connie Tanner

Connie Tanner’s latest collages bring together fragments of her own handmade papers — cut, torn, layered, and rearranged into unexpected relationships.

Inspired by the fragments and contradictions of life, the works create a world of “quiet noise” — a place of comfort, possibility, and new ways of seeing.

As Tanner puts it: “You can never get it wrong; you can only get it different.”
