French composer Stéphane Gassot will receive the world premiere of his suite from the animated film La bicyclette et le vélo (Cycle or Bicycle) on Friday, May 29th at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall. This is a lighthearted score for strings and piano, with small vignettes that capture the scenes from the 2024 film about contrasting personalities. The “Children’s Tales” musical program also features Saint-Saёns’ Carnival of the Animals and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. Pianist Eden Chen plays Liszt’s Piano Concerto in E Minor “Malediction”, and the evening closes with Music Director Salvatore Di Vittorio’s own Carosello (Carousel).
