Emerald Rose Whipple Emerald Rose Whipple (b. 1989, USA) is a visual artist who lives and works in New York, NY.

Emerald Rose Whipple (b. 1989, USA) is a visual artist best known for her paintings of wayward and pensive adolescents that document the coming-of-age transition between the innocence of childhood
and the self-discovery of adulthood. The work simultaneously explores the origins of youth and the light within the soul. Referencing the late19th century Impressionism and the old masters, Whipple ca

ptures in paint the ephemeral photographic images. While her pieces are a product of contemporary social media and popular culture, the resulting impression is universal and candid. Whipple presented internationally, including solo shows at VOLTA NY and Galerie Jan Dhaese. paintings have appeared in publications including Dazed & Confused Magazine, Another Magazine, The Last Magazine, i-D Magazine, and Women’s Wear Daily.

I love them…

My solo show Fallen Angels opens at @ kearsey.gold
this Saturday May 9

The latest collection operates on a high-stakes double register, a fluid oscillation between rigorous theological inquiry and the raw, earthbound joy of the immediate now. This isn’t merely a nostalgic look back, but a distillation of a decade-long archive of downtown New York culture—a subculture often fleeting, here rendered with the permanence of a relic.

By capturing an intimate social circle, the works translate the frenetic energy of contemporary life into the slow, enduring language of oil paint. There is a radical synthesis at play: the gravity of Old Master traditions meets a meticulous pointillist and impressionist ex*****on. The result is a visual bridge that spans the distance between the ethereal and the playful, demanding a reconciliation of the sacred with the everyday. It is a profound documentation of a specific tribe, elevating the transient moment into something both monumental and undeniably alive.
