What is the objective of Google Solitaire?
Solitaire, also known as "Klondike" Solitaire, is a popular card game played by a single player. The objective of the game is to move all the cards to four foundation piles, each sorted by suit from Ace to King. Here's a breakdown of the rules:
Game Setup:
Deck: A standard 52-card deck is used.
Tableau: Seven columns of cards are laid out.
The first column has 1 card, the second column has 2 cards, and so on up to the seventh column with 7 cards.
Only the top card of each column is face-up; the rest are face-down.
Foundation Piles: There are four empty foundation piles, one for each suit.
Stock and Waste Pile:
The remaining cards are placed in the stock pile, with cards drawn to the waste pile when needed.
Objective:
Move all cards to the foundation piles in ascending order (Ace to King) by suit.
Gameplay:
Moving Cards in the Tableau:
Cards in the tableau can be moved between columns if they are arranged in descending order (King to Ace) and alternating colors (red and black).
For example, a red 6 can be placed on a black 7.
Revealing Hidden Cards:
When the top face-up card in a tableau column is moved, the face-down card beneath it is turned face-up.
Empty Columns:
Only a King (with any attached sequence of descending, alternating cards) can be moved to an empty column in the tableau.
Building Foundation Piles:
Aces should be moved to the foundation piles as soon as they become available.
Cards of the same suit are then added to the foundation pile in ascending order (e.g., Ace, 2, 3, etc.).
Drawing from the Stock Pile:
When no more moves are possible in the tableau, cards are drawn from the stock pile to the waste pile.
The top card of the waste pile can be played to the tableau or foundation.
Winning the Game:
The game is won when all cards are successfully moved to the foundation piles, with each pile containing cards of the same suit in ascending order from Ace to King.
Optional Rules (Variations):
Stock Pile Draws:
Draw One: One card is drawn from the stock pile at a time.
Draw Three: Three cards are drawn at a time from the stock pile, with only the top card playable.
Scoring:
Some versions of Solitaire include a scoring system, where points are awarded for moving cards to the foundation or uncovering face-down cards.
By following these rules and practicing regularly, you'll become more proficient at playing Solitaire. Enjoy the game!
