Walk On The Wild Side, the Musical Drama

Walk On The Wild Side, the Musical Drama A New Musical Drama based on the 1956 novel, A Walk On The Wild Side "Never play cards with a man called Doc." "Never eat at a place called Mom's."

"Never sleep with a woman whose troubles are worse than your own." These are the "three rules of life" laid out in the famous novel, A Walk On The Wild Side. Now, the Nelson Algren classic is transformed into the latest Will Holt musical...drawing us into a world populated by outcasts, hustlers and dreamers in 1930s America, where trains roamed the plains and so did hungry young men in search of m

oney, hope and love. With a rich score that draws from country & western, blues, and jazz, Walk On The Wild Side takes us from a dusty Texas town on the Mexico border to the anything-goes streets of New Orleans. And in this gritty and dangerous world, the provocative musical dares to ask: Why do lost people sometimes become greater human beings than those who've never been lost at all? Two readings will take place at the York Theatre under its Developmental Reading Series on November 8th and 9th at 3pm under the direction and musical direction of Aaron Hagan. Free tickets to the reading are available here: http://www.yorktheatre.org/upcoming-readings.html
