Our favorite dog is stepping into retirement with all four paws! ๐พ ๐โ๐ฆบ
Today, the 2D Military Police Detachment (MWD) hosted a retirement ceremony for MWD Nick, known as the "doggles dog" to many. During the ceremony, Nick was presented the Army Commendation Medal for his years of service as a patrol explosive detector dog. Nick supported 58 U.S. Secret Service missions and accumulated 5,798 utilization hours in his career. He also participated in significant events such as the NATO summit, the Democratic National Convention, the Army's 250th birthday celebration, state funerals and the United Nations General Assembly.
We want to thank the many members of Team Meade that attended to wish him the best for this next chapter of his life. Current handler Staff Sgt. Justin Peyton and wife Lauren are adopting Nick, who looks forward to playing with their two children.
