Upcoming Performance, THIS WEEKEND!

"The purpose of Move to Change is to use dance as a form of social justice and arts activism through the lens of people of color (POC). The goal of Move to Change is to create cultural and gender affirming spaces for artists of color (African, Latina/o/x, Asian, Arab, Native American [ALAANA]), MENA, & SWANA to educate, empower, & illuminate issues that reflects their histories and cultures through their unique and rich movement aesthetics."

A few weeks ago Jenny spoke on the The City Talks: Colonialism, Enslavement, and the Arts panel at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Click to hear what she and panelists Michael J. Bobbitt and Deborah Spears Morehead had to say on the topics. Special thanks to Sadada who grounded us and curated an open space for dialogue.

There is so much uncovering, correcting of history and narrative that needs to be done. One hour is not enough time to dig into all that needs to be discussed but we hope that you will engage with us and those who are outside of our circles to continue the shift away from settler colonial culture and the destruction that comes with it.

It's truly an honor for our Artistic Director, Jenny, to be nominated amongst so many of the city's esteemed artists for the 2019 Brother Thomas Fellowship through the The Boston Foundation. Although she did not receive one of the awards, it is meaningful to be acknowledged for the work she is doing. We look forward to creating more works and pursuing our mission of supporting marginalized communities through the intersection of art, advocacy and education. Congratulations to all of the nominees! 🎉🎉
Special shout out to all of the dancers who dedicate so much of their time, energy, bodies and support to this Collective. There would be no work without all of you! Here's a clip from an excerpt of https://youtu.be/JLXuxUkH2LE
And all the love 🤗😍 to our home base and support for the past 4yrs Deborah Mason Performing Arts Center Inc. Wouldn't be doing this without you. ❤️

It's always meaningful to dance in thie More than Moves Festival 2019. Not only does it align with our mission to use our art to support marginalized communities but it is also marks the first time that we presented a group piece in Boston. So, cheers to More Than Moves and cheers to another season of CDT!

To another amazing year, More than Moves 2019 you were something special ❤️
