Monumental paintings. Four colors. Endless possibility.

For more than five decades, Judith Murray .murray.studio has pursued a singular vision, creating vibrant abstractions that are both rigorously structured and emotionally expansive.

Working exclusively with red, yellow, black, and white, Murray coaxes an astonishing range of color from a limited palette, building richly textured surfaces alive with movement, light, and energy.

At a moment of renewed attention to a generation of women artists who helped shape contemporary painting, Murray continues to push her work forward. Her latest canvases—some reaching eight by nine feet—are painted with remarkable physicality and optimism, defying any expectation of late-career restraint.

Join us tonight for the opening of Judith Murray: Pure Pleasure.

Congrats
・・・
I’m deeply honored to share that my work will be included in Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses at the Brooklyn Museum, on view May 16 – December 6, 2026.

It feels especially meaningful to me personally. Before fully dedicating myself to visual art, I studied fashion design, and that background continues to shape the way I think about material, movement, form and the body. My practice has always lived somewhere between painting, sculpture, textile, and fashion- so to be part of a conversation surrounding Iris van Herpen’s visionary work feels both surreal and deeply full circle.

The exhibition explores the intersection of fashion, contemporary art, craftsmanship, and innovation that resonate strongly with my own process of transforming hand-cut silk into sculptural, undulating forms.

Included in the exhibition:

Kenny Nguyen
Nesting Ground Series No. 1, 2024
Hand-cut silk fabric, acrylic paint, canvas, mounted on wall
Flat Dimensions: 102 × 83 in.
Undulated Dimensions: 96 × 76 × 7 in. (approx.)

Grateful to be taking a small part in such a thoughtful and inspiring exhibition . Thank you and for making this happen 🤍

In London for the opening of our new gallery, I woke up to find the new Banksy sculpture just across from my hotel.

I first came to this city as a graduate student many years ago, and it has penetrated deep into my consciousness. London has a way of layering the past and present so effortlessly—history, architecture, and contemporary culture all in dialogue. Even now, it still offers moments of surprise like this, right outside your window.

Painter Ricardo Mazal (b. 1950, Mexico City) explores the intersection of landscape, spirituality, and abstraction in his celebrated Kailash series—an ongoing body of work inspired by Mount Kailash, the sacred peak in Tibet revered across multiple spiritual traditions.

A monumental painting from the Kailash series was most recently on view at Casa Universitaria del Libro (CASUL) in Mexico City, a stunning cultural venue in Roma Norte.
