Crown and Scepter Theater Company was originally founded, in early 2010, by a group of ambitious Columbia University students, trying to break into the New York City theater community. Built on small savings from summer earnings, local business donations, and volunteer support from family members and fellow classmates, our business thrived on the eagerness of all its members. Since that time, we have grown to encompass not only students but fantastic non-equity talent from all over New York City, and have gained a following as an exciting source of professional theater in New York. Through all of this, we have still remained true to our roots as an organization, always welcoming bright new faces from universities and the loving involvement of family members of the cast and staff. Our mission at Crown and Scepter is to produce fully staged productions of hit Broadway musicals at professional theater venues in New York City, and through these theatrical shows provide a platform for performers and back-stage talent to refine their craft and gain exposure in New York.
