The Caribbean has lost one of its most iconic voices. 🕊️
We remember The Mighty Sparrow "Slinger Francisco", the legendary calypsonian whose music became a powerful reflection of Caribbean life, culture, humor and social commentary.
For generations, his unmistakable voice and unforgettable lyrics carried stories from the Caribbean to audiences around the world. Through calypso, he entertained, challenged, documented and celebrated the experiences of our people.
His contribution to Caribbean music and culture extends far beyond the songs he recorded. He helped shape the sound of an era, inspired generations of artists and demonstrated the power of Caribbean storytelling through music.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.
