Remembering Igor Stravinsky, who passed away on this day in 1971. πŸ•ŠοΈ

From the scandalous premiere of "The Rite of Spring" that caused a riot in 1913, to his neoclassical masterpieces, to his late serial works β€” Stravinsky constantly reinvented himself and music itself.

He once said: "I have learned throughout my life as a composer chiefly through my mistakes.

"What's your favorite Stravinsky era β€” Russian, Neoclassical, or Serial? πŸ‘‡

Two Giants, One Birthday! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚

On this day, we celebrate two of the greatest composers who ever lived:

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685) β€” The father of Western music. Master of counterpoint, fugue, and everything in between. His music is the foundation upon which all of classical music stands.

Joseph Haydn (1732) β€” "Papa Haydn," the father of the symphony AND the string quartet. Without him, Mozart and Beethoven would not exist as we know them.

Fun fact: Bach was born on March 21 (Old Style calendar), which converts to March 31 in our modern calendar β€” the exact same day Haydn was born 47 years later!

Who's your favorite β€” Bach or Haydn? πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Happy World Piano Day! 🎹✨

Why March 29? Because the piano has 88 keys β€” and today is the 88th day of the year.
Perfect, right?

From Baroque harpsichords to modern concert grands, the piano has been the heartbeat of classical music for over 300 years. It's the instrument that gave voice to Chopin's poetry, Beethoven's fury, Debussy's dreams, and Rachmaninoff's storms.

Whether you're a concert pianist or just learning your first scale β€” today is YOUR day. Play something beautiful today.

What's the first piece you ever learned on piano? πŸ‘‡.
