Wild Style is one of 20 films selected for Declaration of Independents, a new retrospective organized by IndieCollect at IFC Center celebrating the filmmakers who transformed American independent cinema from 1979–1989. The series brings together many of the era’s landmark films and the directors behind them.

Special-edition 2xLP reissue of the soundtrack to the Hip Hop classic Wild Style is out now, in celebration of Arrow Films restoring the original Wild Style film in 4K & Blu-ray from the original 16mm.

In addition to a colored vinyl of the oft-sampled soundtrack itself, you also get another vinyl of just the breakbeats for your mixing pleasure, as well as a flexi-disc of a live set by Fantastic Freaks at The Dixie and a set of Wild Styles along with a full size film poster.

Deep Cuts Record Shop in Ridgewood, Queens is hosting an intimate signing with the director of the film, Charlie Ahearn, for all the OGs in NYC who want to pick up this piece of hip hop history and get it signed by the man who made it happen.

Come thru on Sunday, Dec 14th at 5p to get your copy.

There will only be a limited number of records on hand, so please RSVP so we can hold one of these collectors items for you. Also on hand will be some copies of the remastered box set of the film itself, which comes with a 120-page collectors book featuring photos and interviews about the making of and impact of the film, a Hip Hop Family Tree mini-comic, stickers, a double-sided poster, and 3 discs of the film, commentary, featurettes, historical trailers, artist portraits, mega-mixes, and so much more.

In honor of the Wild Style remaster of the original 16mm now out from the classic & oft-sampled Wild Style soundtrack has been re-released by with two colored vinyl LPs, one of the soundtrack itself and another of just the breakbeats. The beautiful gatefold is filled with photos from the film, and you get a bunch of stickers, and full-sized film poster, and even a flexi-disc with a living recording of the Fantastic Freaks at The Dixie.
