ACOUSTIC AFFAIRE, a Three week, live music residency series that was started in 2012 and took stage across several downtown Manhattan venues. In a city filled with one-off shows and flash performances, Acoustic Affaire provides a residency for artists, ala Patty Smith at CBGBs, and is a dynamic platform, where talent can be discovered, and nurtured within the vast, NYC live music scene. Acoustic Affaire has presented a smart roster of artists including Reserved for Rondee, Kevin Stewart (Prof.Badass), Len Xiang, Musinah and award nominated Valerie June, in it's inaugural run. Known to attract a cultured,and sexy audience, from Soap Opera stars to Neurosurgeons, Acoustic Affaire has developed into an exciting event series and the second season is highly anticipated by previous performers, friends, talent spotters and music fans.The showcase has been on hiatus since 2013, which found creator/producers Richard Burroughs and Sekou Carradine busy on several fronts. Burroughs has been a media personality in Brooklyn, where he writes a column for The Brooklyn Reader, and is an on-air personality for BK Live, on BRIC TV. He has also been curating art shows, most notably at Rush Gallery and for Bushwick Open Studios, DJing across NYC, while also producing live music shows and events. Carradine has been producing live music events at NYC venues like Webster Hall and Bowery Electric, being a spokesperson and champion for MS, working with Sue Phillips in the perfume world, creating a technology product and staying active in front of the camera, as a model and actor.
