Opera’s ultimate diva 🔥

As part of our star-studded 2026–27 season, we are excited to bring back David McVicar’s gripping production of Puccini’s Tosca.

Packed with searing passion and edge-of-your-seat action, this classic thriller is the story of a jealous diva, the ardent painter who loves her, and the villainous chief of police who tears them asunder.

The return of this classic production sees five powerhouse sopranos taking on the touchstone title role, including Aleksandra Kurzak (pictured here).

A song for Dad, in Puccini’s most irresistible melody 💙

In this stirring 1981 performance of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Lauretta, sung by the great Renata Scotto, offers an appeal for love tender enough to soften any father’s resolve.

Happy Father’s Day from the Met!

All that glitters is gold 🏅

There are few things more elegant than the Met’s magnificent gold curtain. Made up of 1,150 yards of Scalamandré silk woven in Long Island City and assembled in Umkirch, Germany, it is the world’s largest Wagner curtain—a type of theater drape opening on the diagonal that the composer himself designed for his opera house in Bayreuth.

🗓️ As we prepare to raise the curtain on the 2026–27 season this fall, explore the full star-studded lineup at metopera.org/season/2026-27-season
