“SPIA 104” es uno más de entre los miles de ciudadanos que habitan la gran Urbe de México. Desde el año de 1995, aproximadamente, siendo un adolescente que contaba con notorias aptitudes para el dibujo, y tras haber conocido algunas de las propuestas de los mundos suburbanos, se siente fuertemente identificado con uno de los movimientos más extrovertidos y polémicos de las últimas dos décadas: el Hip-Hop. Sus primeras incursiones en este “suburbio” fueron a través de su “sendero visual”, el que “muestra” que allí están: el Graffiti, siendo miembro de algunos crews tales como el BST (Best Street Taggers), el RT (Revolución Tagger) y el AFK (Aztlan Funky Kids). Con el fluir de los tiempos y ya consolidado como un representante del género, emprende otro de los “senderos” de este espacio subterráneo: el Rap. Por medio de éste él exterioriza su sentir sobre la cruda vida que es la realidad de los habitantes de esta urbe, el Distrito Federal, y sobre este mundo globalizado que pretende arrastrarnos con farsas políticas, mentiras y otras calumnias a la ceguera. Su carrera por este último sendero la emprendió con el Reporte Ilegal, conformada por tres miembros contándolo a él (Zdarek, productor; Spia 104 y Wilson, a. a. “Redos” de Tribus vivas, Dermafilia.), el año de 1998 -tras un año de práctica-, con el fin de crear conciencia en las generaciones nacientes. (Cabe destacar que en esos momentos se vivían eventos locales de gran significación e impacto socio-cultural tales como la huelga estudiantil de La UNAM en 1999 y caída del partido de poder, el PRI, con la consiguiente nueva estructura económico-política de la nueva cabeza, el PAN.). Actualmente continúa exponiendo su rap tanto en las calles, improvisadamente, como en eventos culturales (también improvisadamente), intentando mantener la escencia del Reporte Ilegal en colaboración del “Skuadron de Atacke” (rap pal barrio), a la vez que ha alcanzado una mayor madurez respecto al graffiti, el cual aún plasma sobre muros agrietados y descarapelados, grabando su nombre como símbolo del legado del estilo del Hip-Hop, de sus raíces, de sus ideas y de su corazón que luchan por la verdad.

El rap que yo hago viene desde mi corazón, y la historia de mi vida está escrita en cada pared que he pintado y en cada escenario que he pisado con el fin de hacer manifiesta una verdad que vivimos. Pascal Auzier Lafontaine a 17ans quand il commence l'aventure du DJing. Il se métamorphose en DJ CHAB1 et devient une des figures incontestables du jeune milieu underground hip-hop parisien. Au début des années 1980, il s'intéresse au pur groove, mais aussi reste sensible et ouvert aux autres tendances (NTM & the Punk diva Nina Hagen, le rock, Kraftwerk, le jazz, le latin-soul etc…….) à toutes les musiques et artistes, qui ont influencé le hip-hop naissant. Il devient une référence musicale incontournable et progressivement construit ses influences sur le métissage de toutes ces cultures urbaines. Jamalski, agitator since 1991. This is not a marketing slogan. Who else but this MC born in New York City can boast about driving BPM counters crazy, making clubbers and party people going hysterical and breaking the barriers between Hip Hop, Ragga, Jungle, Funk, House, Dub, Techno and Drum’N’Bass? From his debut featuring KRS One in 1990 to this inflammatory Ruffnecks Revenge release, Jamalski has always put himself above cliché, easiness and well-established genres. When he talks about his vision of Drum’N’Bass through this album, Jamalskidoes not speak about what we think we already know: “For me, Drum is futuristic Punk-Rock, a very underground sound which takes its roots in Hip Hop, Dub, Rave scene or Techno from Detroit but also in Bad Brains music and from all the artists who broke musical barriers…I’m part of the people who don’t make music to please radio programmers.”
very time he holds the mic on stage, Jamalski brings an enormous charge of adrenaline to the audience. The strength of this new album is how well this adrenaline has been transposed onto a CD. This sound, the Sound Systems vibrations, the amplifiers almost bursting and the furious beats are all there. The MC has surrounded himself by international producers known for doing neither polite nor proper: coming from France (Brusco, Kafra, Chakal 900…), from Belgium (System D), from Canada (Capital J) or from Norway (Future Prophecies). Their sounds are as aggressive, electrifying, and without any concessions as Jamalski’s lyrics and flow. This album is just fat. It’s like a paving stone thrown into the window of the music industry wanting to sell records like yoghourts to silly and disciplined consumers.
“I don’t have anything against cars and clothes, I just think that we need to call upon people’s intelligence and originality instead of pushing them to consume more and more. I feel like I’m making a battle. I handle a form of violence with words as a metaphor. The essence of the message is positive though: move to question yourself, to break the frontiers, to build connections between people and music, to push limits away…”
Some important dates:
1990: KRS One give the mic to Jamalski on Seven Dee-jay with Boogie Down Production (Edutainment album). On the same year, he performs for the first time in France with notably Cut Killer and Kheops spinning.
1993: First album Roughnecks Reality (Sony) is released
1994: Jamalski launches Concrete Jungle, the first jungle residence in New York City at The Village. He invites there Shy FX, UK Apache…
1995: Jamalski joins the club and rave scene of San Francisco which is at that time the principal home for Jungle in the US.
2000: Jamalski moves to Europe
2005: Release of Ruffnecks Revenge, first 100% Jamalski’s album since 1999
