S T A R R busby (they/she/he/we) is a Black experimental artist who sings, acts, composes, educates, and is committed to the liberation of all people. Most recently, S T A R R completed a series of concerts at Carnegie Hall to culminate their tenure as a Musical Explorers teaching artist on Freedom Songs.
S T A R R has a musical project which will release their first full-length album - Working Up A Surrender - on Switch Hit Records this Fall. S T A R R is also the lead singer of People’s Champs (peopleschamps.com).
S T A R R has also performed extensively in the New York theatre scene, where they were awarded two Lucille Lortel Awards for their composition and performance work in (pray) and a Special Drama Desk Ensemble Award for their work in Octet.
Indigo Sparks is a Brooklyn-based performer, producer, and filmmaker whose deep curiosity around the facilitation of community shapes her creative practices. Sparks attended The University of The Arts where she trained in dance and vocal performance. Sparks has performed at venues including Lincoln Center, The Shed, the International Theater of Amsterdam, and Judson Church. Her first documentary dance short earned recognition as a Sundance Interdisciplinary Grantee. Sparks’ continued curiosity drives her exploration of the intersections between performance, production, and community.
Jenny Jules: Theater includes Broadway: Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. The Crucible. Off Broadway The Swamp Dwellers (TFANA), Her Portmanteau (NYTW), Father Comes Home From the Wars (Public Theater), Sweat (Public Theater tour), Julius Caesar and Henry IV (St Ann’s Warehouse), and Ruined (Arena Stage). Jenny has worked extensively in London at theaters that include The Almeida, The Tricycle—now The Kiln, Donmar Warehouse, and The National where she played Jane Pilkings in Death and the King’s Horseman, and Mavis in Moon on A Rainbow Shawl.
