That’s a wrap on Keen’s Mixtape Series! Mona Mansour brought together a magnificent group of artists who filled Judson Memorial Church with so much talent and originality.

Mona’s Mixtape was a lot like her: literary, thought-provoking, generous, honest, deep, loving, absurd, wacky, bold, and of course: there was a Joni Mitchell song.

S T A R R busby (they/she/he/we) is a Black experimental artist who sings, acts, composes, educates, and is committed to the liberation of all people. Most recently, S T A R R completed a series of concerts at Carnegie Hall to culminate their tenure as a Musical Explorers teaching artist on Freedom Songs.
S T A R R has a musical project which will release their first full-length album - Working Up A Surrender - on Switch Hit Records this Fall. S T A R R is also the lead singer of People’s Champs (peopleschamps.com).
S T A R R has also performed extensively in the New York theatre scene, where they were awarded two Lucille Lortel Awards for their composition and performance work in (pray) and a Special Drama Desk Ensemble Award for their work in Octet.

Indigo Sparks is a Brooklyn-based performer, producer, and filmmaker whose deep curiosity around the facilitation of community shapes her creative practices. Sparks attended The University of The Arts where she trained in dance and vocal performance. Sparks has performed at venues including Lincoln Center, The Shed, the International Theater of Amsterdam, and Judson Church. Her first documentary dance short earned recognition as a Sundance Interdisciplinary Grantee. Sparks’ continued curiosity drives her exploration of the intersections between performance, production, and community.

Jenny Jules: Theater includes Broadway: Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. The Crucible. Off Broadway The Swamp Dwellers (TFANA), Her Portmanteau (NYTW), Father Comes Home From the Wars (Public Theater), Sweat (Public Theater tour), Julius Caesar and Henry IV (St Ann’s Warehouse), and Ruined (Arena Stage). Jenny has worked extensively in London at theaters that include The Almeida, The Tricycle—now The Kiln, Donmar Warehouse, and The National where she played Jane Pilkings in Death and the King’s Horseman, and Mavis in Moon on A Rainbow Shawl.

Lark White: Her recent theater credits include Grief Camp at Atlantic Theater Company (World Premiere), Covenant at Roundabout Theater Company (World Premiere) and Hamlet at The Public’s Shakespeare in the Park. She was a 2023 Clive Barnes Finalist in Theater. She received her BFA from Juilliard in May 2023. Film credits: If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (A24), The Testament of Ann Lee (Searchlight). Television credits: Upcoming Crystal Lake (A24). .white

Latoya Edwards is an actor, singer, and beginner crocheter based in New York City, who loves Severance and anything blue raspberry flavored. Most recently, she starred as Fenton/Simple in Merry Wives at Shakespeare Theatre Company. Previously, she starred as Keesha in White Girl In Danger, a new musical by Michael R. Jackson (A Strange Loop) at the Tony Kiser Theatre. Additional credits include: The Rolling Stone (Lincoln Center); School Girls; or, the African Mean Girls Play (MCC & Center Theatre Group); Miss You Like Hell (The Public Theatre); Law & Order: SVU; The Get Down; Many Saints of Newark; Beauty; They Saw the Sun First (BAFTA Award); Enjoy Your Visit; Don’t Stay Safe. Amber Iman is a prolific performer, filmmaker, activist, and one of the most sought-after theatre artists and vocalists working today. In 2024, Amber starred as “Rafaela” in the Broadway production of , earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical and a Drama League Distinguished Performance Award nomination.

Andrea Ambam is an award-winning storyteller and truthteller whose roots sprout from Cameroon. Pulsating at the intersection of art and social change as a playwright, performance artist, and creative producer.

Onyekachi Iwu is a Nigerian American director and playwright from Nashville, TN. As a director, Iwu was a member of the 2022-2024 WP Directing Lab and has developed new work with Mercury Store, New Dramatists, MCC, The Public Theater, and The Civilians.

The evening will be a celebration of Black women/femmes and will feature performances and work by Andrea Ambam, Arewà Basit, Starr Busby, Latoya Edwards, Paige Gilbert, Amber Iman, Onyekachi Iniwu, Jenny Jules, Maya Sharpe, Indigo Sparks, and Lark White.
