Adorno ADORNO presents Locally Curated Collections from distinct design communities around the world Launching in Spring 2017.

ADORNO International Design Collaboration is a network of designers and curators from design communities around the world. Our goal of the collaboration is to empower designers and design communities and to contribute to a more culturally diverse world. We’re building a platform for Curators, Designers, Collectors and Design Enthusiasts to meet. Over the next 12 months, curators from 20 design destinations around the world will present a portfolio from leading designers from each of their regions. Design enthusiasts and collectors are invited to join the collaboration on this journey where the best of contemporary collectible design-art, new trends and styles will be exhibited in the gallery on a regular basis. We will host digital design-art exhibitions, always curated exclusively for Adorno by leading design curators. The selected curators involved are all design experts from each respective design region they represent; internationally recognized for their work with designers and impact on local design communities. Adorno provides the infrastructure for this unique collaboration; the digital platform with portfolios, gallery and editorial content, a global shipping solution, and the promotional activities of the collaboration. We facilitate a new network and marketplace to empower local design communities. First up we will present curated design portfolios and online exhibitions from Amsterdam, Istanbul, Brussels, Copenhagen and Sao Paulo available exclusively on adorno.design. Everything will always be unique, limited and small scale. We remain critical and inclusive by the process of curation, yet we always make sure you deal directly with the designer.

Plus01 Medium by 301 Design Studio

Plus01 stool highlights the character of the material with its layered wooden surfaces and visible joint details. It is defined by the balance created by its circular seating surface and vertical supports. Available in various color options, it can be used as a standalone accent piece and also adapts to different compositions. It can be used as a seating element or a side table.

Strut by YET. Design Studio

Strut turns aluminium angle profiles, the kind of industrial hardware usually hidden inside a structure, into the whole point. Across the collection, the supporting structure stops being a secondary element and becomes the defining presence. The chair, the table, and the pouf are all built on the same language of stability, rhythm, and proportion.

Aluminium is often read as cold and technical, but here it takes on a different identity. The rhythmic repetition of the profiles creates depth and shifting shadow, so each piece is experienced differently from every angle. Strength comes not from mass, but from precision.

Stripped of excess, Strut reads less like furniture and more like architecture at a domestic scale. Pieces that sense the rhythm of a space and sharpen it.

SABAN FURKAN, Turkey

Saban Furkan is a Turkish Object & Space Designer based between Istanbul and Milan. His practice explores the relationship between furniture, objects, and interior space through a refined dialogue between material, structure, and narrative. Working across collectible design and interior architecture, he creates pieces that go beyond function, using form as a medium to express ideas about human experience, balance, and contrast. His work is defined by honest construction, carefully considered material combinations, and a restrained aesthetic that allows each object to communicate with clarity.

A good coffee corner doesn't need much. Not a machine that costs more than the counter it sits on, not beans grown on volcanic soil at the end of the world, not even much space. It needs a little care, and a few pieces worth living with.

Here, that's the Liora sconce, folded glass and fabric, throwing a warm, soft light. The Delphine vase, dark and raw for the contrast.
Add a moka pot, a stack of well-read books, and the smallest corner starts to feel like the best seat in the house.

The coffee tastes better here.

Hydrant by Estúdio Ramiros

The Hydrant was born from observing an everyday object. While looking at a street hydrant, a simple question emerged: what if it could be made entirely of wood?

From this idea, a functional element of the urban landscape was transformed into a sculptural piece. Its recognizable form remains, but its materiality changes completely, offering an unexpected interpretation of an object we normally encounter in metal.

Every detail of the Hydrant is made by hand. The base, the body, and each of its small buttons are individually turned and handcrafted. The piece is made from cumaru and freijó. The buttons are made from Riga pine, reclaimed from demolition, incorporating a material that carries its own history.

Caapora Console by Estudio Leonardo Zanatta

The Caapora Console is a console table and sideboard from Encantaria, the collectible design line of Estúdio Leonardo Zanatta in São Paulo, made in solid Brazilian hardwood. It works in an entryway, a hallway, a dining room or behind a sofa, and its shallow depth of 22 cm lets it sit against a wall without taking over the room.

The structure is coração de negro, a dense, dark Amazonian wood. Two solid legs, one trapezoidal and one pyramidal, receive the hand carved “turu” texture and support the top through a sphere turned in muirapiranga, a red wood also known as bloodwood.

The Practice Chair by Studio Fabius Clovis

The Practice Chair embodies the creative philosophy of Studio Fabius Colvis, where design is viewed not as a static achievement but as an ever-evolving process of refinement, exploration, and reinvention. Rooted in a deep commitment to continuous learning and craftsmanship, the chair reflects a living dialogue between artist and material, thought and ex*****on.

These practice-driven creations serve as dynamic expressions of the studio’s ethos, illustrating how experimentation and iteration shape both the process and the final work. The Practice Chair is a functional object and a statement of artistic intent—a physical representation of creative growth through exploration and mastery.
