Final screening for the 13th Workers Unite Film Festival! Thank you to Penn South/ Mutual Redevelopment Houses Inc. & Colette Swietnicki & The Penn South Social Services for hosting our final outreach event.
Penn South, one of the last remaining limited equity/affordable housing cooperatives left in the NYC region remains a shining example of how our American society could be made to work for the 99% instead of the 1% billionaire class.
WUFF has been honored to screen films these past weeks both before & after the election debacle. We know that this coop was formed in much less liberal times and has survived petty tyrants like trump many times. The beacon of forward progress never really goes out. At times it may get obscured, or sidetracked, but over the longer arc of history the rights and dignity of workers is the right side of history. We will never give up, never give in & never stop for fighting reactionary forces that look to exploit workers & crush their unions. Join us online for pro worker/ pro union films starting again in January and running most of the year on our Eventive online platform. Thanks so much for your support! Solidarity Forever!

We fought hard for a different outcome and while stunned by the apparent victory for hate, anger, ignorance & racism, we must not get so down that we don’t reorganize right now and prepare to fight back for all the positive futures we imagined. They are not gone, just a longer road to reach them. Together. United. Forever.

Happy Halloween!!

We salute the dockworkers who stood strong, called the bluff of the greedy owners and won their demands on the picket line. Sometimes you gotta show your muscle. Bravo!
