WUFF was honored to host two wonderful groups for a sold out show last night with CUPE, Canadian Public Employees, who made a road map for labor union success with Bargaining Forward. CUPE was joined by New Labor New Jersey, both groups from New Brunswick! New Labor’s film Nos Somos Maquinas, We Are Not Machines, about exploited day laborers in NJ who are totally abused in their work days.
WUFF screened them together and we were thrilled to have these groups experience the other’s stories as a way of movng towards Global Labor Solidarity. National Employment Law Project who work with New Labor were there to support.

Another full house screening @workersunitefilmfest on Tuesday night with the wonderful Penn South community and their Archive project film, Cooperators, about Mutual Redevelopment Houses, a shining example of how affordable housing for working people could have been done citywide. WUFF was also honored to screen The President’s Tailor: From Auschwitz to the White House , a touching story of survival & success. And finally, a wonderful film about the growing cooperative world of Cincinnati, Works For All: Cincinnati’s Coop Economy. Late night the powerful Revolutionary Song: The Story of Radical Chilean Music & Politics. Excellent filmmaking. Great talkbacks!
