August Workshop on ZOOM!

My five-week workshop introduces students with non-American accents to the sounds of American English. The goal of this class is to begin the process that will ultimately enable the speaker to have greater clarity and connection to the spoken word, and acclimate students to sounds perceived as "Neutral" or "General" American.

Students will cultivate an awareness and understanding of their habitual sounds, and learn to make the adjustments necessary to achieve an American English accent. We will discuss rhythm and flow of the accent, as well as placement and positioning for all vowels and consonants. Students will come away knowing how to continue to develop their speech skills and modify them in order to acquire an American accent.

The class runs from Tuesday, Aug. 3 to Thursday, Sept. 2 and will meet for five consecutive weeks on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7-9 p.m. EST, on ZOOM!!

10 WEEKS, $650
WEDNESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 12 – NOVEMBER 14 7:30pm – 10:30pm
This voice class is designed to help actors neutralize their native accents by exploring how to form the various complicated sounds and placements of the Standard American Dialect. Level 1 teaches the correct placement of the consonant sounds, leading to greater clarity and confidence for the speaker, thus making that process both comfortable and natural. Proficiency in the English language and previous actor training is required to take this class.
