Summer Sundays in the Park https://www.jhbg.org/programs/summersundays Summer Sundays at the Park is a free concert series during the summer months on the 78th St.

performance area, in Travers Park in Jackson Heights, Queens. Concerts are sponsored by the Jackson Heights Beautification Group and offer a variety of music from various genres and cultures. All concerts begin at 6p.m. This project is supported by funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, Statewide Community Regrants Program (formerly the Decentralization program) with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and administered by Flushing Town Hall. This event is made possible (in part) with public funds from the Queens Arts Fund, a re-grant program supported by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by New York Foundation for the Arts. Additional funding and support from our Councilman Shekar Krishnan and JHBG members!

Join us for the FINAL Summer Sundays park concert of the season this coming Sunday, August 30 at 6 PM in Travers Park, as we close out the summer in a BIG way with John Yao’s 17-piece jazz big band!

A Guggenheim Fellow, trombonist, composer, and Queens College professor, John Yao leads one of New York City’s most thrilling bands. Seventeen musicians, all original compositions, and a sound that stretches the limits of jazz while never losing the groove. Big band music has never sounded quite like this.

Come help us celebrate an incredible summer of free live music in the heart of Jackson Heights!
