I firmly believe that you have to paint from your heart and soul to capture the human condition and what it is to be living in today’s world. And that you need to combine your feelings and life experiences with works from your imagination: so I refuse to use AI and photoshop - and maybe only use photos when in doubt what for example a burger looks like. AI and photoshop become a prison to your creativity - and anyway who wants to paint a copy of a photo - sooo boring at least in my world. This has nothing to do with whether a work is good or not, but the importance of engaging your feelings and imagination: this is also the reason why it takes me soooo long to finish a work: this one took 5 months - half of it just sitting staring at my work to make a decision! Some times it takes weeks to resolve just one issue. It drives me insane, but also that is what I love about painting: the struggle. Since my process is soo slow I always begin in acrylics so I can make quick decisions. Now after 5 months I am sooo excited to begin applying the oil paint, using glazing and scumble and all the techniques I learnt at the
