Scripture: Galatians 5:19-24
New American Standard Bible

19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, 20 idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who [a]belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Sometimes when reading popular scriptures it’s a good practice to read the whole chapter or at least the scriptures above and below the popular scripture to gain context.

The scripture draws comparison of the fruit of the world and the fruit of the Spirit (Christians) and when you analyze that fruit how different it should look.

As believers we have a standard and the standard is clear. Those who belong (relationship) to Christ crucify the flesh! As believers God expects that we deny our flesh and it’s passions because those things will lead us to developing the fruit of the world.

Be like Christ.

Pentecost

”And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they we sitting, And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire…
Acts 2: 1-3 KJV

The day of Pentecost celebrated the beginning of the church and God equipping his people with the power of His Spirit for incredible acts ( such as healing and miracles) and to change.

How Acts 2 was not the first celebration of Pentecost. When did the first Pentecost occur on the ancient Jewish holiday?

Let’s talk about prayer..

Prayer is one of the most important habits we can develop. Not only does Scripture command us to pray often, but there are tremendous benefits to building a life of prayer.

Prayer connects us relationally to God. We can thank God for who He is and what He has done for us during our prayer time. We can ask Him for things that we need.

Even though we know we should pray, we often do not take the time to do it. Unless we set aside time to talk to God, it doesn’t always find a way into our daily schedules. But Paul, the writer of the letter to the Ephesians, urges Christians to build a life of prayer. He says that every occasion is a chance to talk to God.

All of our requests and needs should be given to God. However, our time praying should not only be asking God for things. We should also spend part of our time in worship—thanking God for who He is and all He has done.

Paul also encourages us to pray for other people. In fact, part of our responsibility towards others is to advocate for them through prayer. We typically remember to pray for others when something negative is happening to them. But God’s Word says we should always be praying for the people in our life.

As we pray, we should not be discouraged when we don’t see immediate change. God is always working in our lives, even if it doesn’t match our desired timeline. We may not receive the answers we want, but we can rest assured that God is always listening and working on our behalf.

Take some time today to pray to God. Thank Him for all He has done for you. Tell Him your needs. Think of a few people in your life that you can pray for. Throughout your week, use every opportunity to pray to God

Scripture Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

As a Christian to rejoice in the Lord doesn’t come from your circumstances or physical materials; to rejoice and to have joy comes from who Jesus is and what he has done. To know you have a hope in God that will never fail. This is how we can experience joy in suffering.

Rejoice in all circumstances.

Send this to someone who needs encouragement ❤️🌈🖼

Prayer keeps us going. Prayer keeps us connected with God and who he is. He is our Father and he wants a relationship with us. The Bible commands us to pray.

The Bible also urges us to pray for direction, against demonic attacks, and for intervention.

Continue to pray, when your reading your word and your in communication with God, you will develop his character so you want ask for foolish things you will understand that sometimes aren’t meant to have because they will lead to your demise.

James 4:2 (ESV)
2 You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.

Scriptue: Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.

The reason why we should rejoice is because God has everything under control and he loves us. What a benefit!
To have a Father that loves you more than comprehension.

Rejoice saints! It gets better!

When I first came to Christ I didn’t understand why I had to “die to self” out of my ignorance I thought if Jesus did everything that was necessary, why did I still have to suffer, why isn’t everything just perfect.

Today I understand that phrases like “killing the flesh,” “dying to self,” and “old things have passed away” are directly connected to my process, things that are necessary for me to be complete in who God called me to be.

It’s necessary for me to experience hardship and pain because Christ uses these things to test my faith, discipline me, and to grow my character. The process is necessary, and it’s good for me!

Dying to yourself means to forego the selfish, physical, and egotistical desires of this world and wholeheartedly seek the kingdom of God.

Scripture:

"Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Christian persecution is to be expected!

The world does not except the gospel because the gospel shines the light, exposes the darkness- the world does not expect the Truth of God which is Jesus, He was the Word walking on this earth.

Persecution has value:

1. As Christians our persecution for Christ allows us to fellowship with him in an unique way.

2. Christian faith is matured through the endurance and harsh trials of life, how will we know who we serve if we are not tested?

3. Also persecution helps us to develop the character of Christ (Master and servant relationship) we are supposed to exemplify his character, He is the Lamb that was Slain for our sins.

1 Peter 2: 23-25 (ESV): 23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
