Another thing the NESE does very well besides outreach: Concert Premiers and Debuts!

Congrats to Kevin T. Padworski!!

I am so, so grateful for the opportunity to premiere another work at Carnegie again this year and feel the inexplicable feeling of having one’s composition come to life. It would not have been possible without the directors and their amazingly persistent and eager singers: Austina Lee, Matt Steele, Kevin Crowe, and Elizabeth Moore, and the MidAmerica Productions team. Thank you 🙏🏼

Hello friends and family! Please see the post below about the NEYE's most recent venture. We are celebrating 50 years this year, and need your support! The experience you've had as either a member of the NEYE, a parent of a member, or a music lover who supports our outreach can be shared with so many more youth.

We count on your support for programs like this. Please consider a donation! It means the world to me, and truly expands the world-view of every young person who we reach.

Just over 210 years ago, Beethoven wrote the first four notes of his 5th Symphony, creating one of the most widely known and instantly recognizable musical phrases.

In fact, during World War II, the BBC used the four-note motif to introduce its radio news broadcasts because "short-short-short-long" spells the letter "V” (also the Roman numeral Five) in Morse code...and the "V" represented "Victory".

Come enjoy this incredible work, performed by the The New England Symphonic Ensemble as the season opener with MidAmerica Productions at Carnegie Hall on February 17th at 2pm. Giuseppe Lanzetta, guest conductor.

Tickets can be purchased at the link below.

This performance is the opening concert of MidAmerica Productions’s 36th Season at Carnegie Hall and includes works by Morten Lauridsen, Ola Gjeilo, and Beethoven. The featured performers include a festival choir from across America as well as the New England Symphonic Ensemble.

It’s been such a busy season so far, but this Memorial Day weekend warrants mention.

From standards by Beethoven, Mozart, and Rossini (and more) to contemporary and new works by Hayes, Forrest, and Rutter (among others) it has been a privilege for all the musicians of the NESE to come together with MidAmerica Productions and present these 4 amazing concerts at our home away from home, the beautiful and historic Carnegie Hall.

Thank you to the thousands of audience members who shared our joy in making music. We hope you’ve gone home inspired to seek out, notice, highlight, and ultimately create your own unique beauty for the world.

Last one of the season folks! Thanks for coming out and supporting us all year. And happy to share the stage with talented musicians young and not as young, alike from as far away as Tennessee and California.

See you in 2018!!

Ola Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass is so hauntingly beautiful, and Carnegie is a perfect place for it. Paired with John Rutter's sublime Requiem...

This will be a true feast for your ears.
